Some other ideas
Dog Class Trainers Dog Class Trainers:
Use the MannersMinder in training class to help clients develop mechanical skills and provide owners with a standardized stepwise program for training target, down-stay, down-stay with distractions, and “place.” Owners will learn the importance of timing and the fundamentals of positive reinforcement. They will quickly see how treats can be rapidly reduced when criteria are systematically increased.

Agility and Obedience Competition Trainers:
Train go-outs, directionals, contacts, fast down, solid down-stay at great distances, drop on recall, and place. Improve speed through obstacles and reinforce proper body position.

Dog Class Trainers Assistance Dog Trainers:
Train dogs to perform a long, relaxed down-stay with distractions in different settings. Reward dogs for behaviors at a distance (such as hearing dogs alerting to sounds). Great for those who need help getting the tone and reward to their dogs quickly enough for their dogs to understand what they’ve done correctly.

This Learn to Earn Protocol, illustrated in detail on the instructional DVD, is the non-forceful way to establish leadership
Owners can provide basic indoor training for young pups and adult dogs (and cats): Teach dogs to say “please” and to look to you for leadership and guidance by automatically sitting for privileges.
and trust with your dog. Dogs learn to remain calm and to control their emotions, even in high excitement times because saying “please” in the only way they get what they want.

Dog Class Trainers Owners can prevent behavior problems: Train dogs (and cats) to love their crates so that they have a safe haven. Teach dogs (and cats) to remain calm and quiet in your presence and when separated or in other rooms before they learn to bark (meow) and whine for your attention. Teach dogs (and cats) to sit and wait patiently for what they want instead of demanding you provide these things immediately.

Behavior consultants can help owners solve behavior problem:
Decrease barking by rewarding quiet behavior. Decrease jumping by rewarding say please by sitting and calm down-stay behavior. Use the down-stay with distractions protocol to desensitize and counter-condition pets to other distractions or fear-inducing situations such as having toenails trimmed and being grooming.

Stellah attacks hair dryers. Here I desensitize and counter-condition using the same steps as those in the down-stay with distractions.

The entire down-stay with distractions game is about desensitization and counter-conditioning. It starts with classical counter-conditioning and then progresses to operant counter-conditioning.

Zoe struggles when groomed.
Zoe doesn’t need to be trained in stages like Stellah. Just providing kibble from the MannersMinder is good enough.
